Edwardian Elegance
The popularity of the conservatory continued to grow into the Edwardian age as they became more affordable. Whilst many conservatory companies competed with increasingly ambitious designs, using a combination of all the materials available, a simpler style began to emerge.
More widely utilised than their Victorian predecessors, the Edwardian conservatory was fashionable as a conventional dining room and, on a more grandiose scale, used to house swimming baths.
The distinctive pyramid roof and rectangular-shaped 'dwarf walls' of what we now call the Edwardian style, offer an integrated architectural solution.
Altogether a more elegant approach.
